Owner of 712 Nutrition in Sioux Center
SIOUX CENTER—Being a business owner at the age of 26 was never something Danielle “Danie” Abbe expected to be. In fact, there are days she still can’t believe she’s the owner of 712 Nutrition in Sioux Center.
The rural Sioux Center native who lives in Akron said her parents raised her to be motivated and hard working. These are two characteristics she keeps at the forefront of her business located at 1801 S. Frontage Road.
712 Nutrition is a beverage bar that focuses on healthy living.
“I love getting to meet new people every day, building relationships and helping them reach their health and wellness goals,” Abbe said. “Through the people I have met at 712, I have gotten the chance to be involved with different activities within the surrounding community.”
Whether it is helping her clients find better, more healthy, snack alternatives or helping them learn how to best lose weight in a healthy way, Abbe feels blessed to be in a position to assist others. Keeping her on her toes and pushing her to be her best is her husband, Richard.
“My husband pushes me to constantly improve with my business and personally as well,” she said.
Before becoming the owner at 712 Nutrition on June 1 of last year, Abbe was the manager at Rule Sheep Co. east of Hawarden.
“One of the biggest changes was having my little girl, and wanting more freedom and the ability to create my own schedule,” Abbe said. “The opportunity was presented to me at the right time and I couldn’t turn it down.”
Owning her own business has allowed her to have their infant daughter, Hadlee, with her at work when needed.
Abbe, a South Dakota State University graduate, got the idea to open her own nutrition business while in Brookings, where she worked for a nutrition club called Life Force Nutrition.
712 Nutrition is known for its different flavored shakes and teas but it also sells protein bars, iced coffee and protein ice pops — all Herbalife brand, a company that specializes in diet and nutrition products.
